Nothing wrong with Japser re-mans. One of the more highly regarded re-man outfits. It's also always a good pick as they are pretty much used everywhere and are real good with their warranties. As others have mentioned, if you have a good local machine shop and have the time to keep the car down, getting your old engine rebuilt can be a more cost-effective way to go and allow you to have some "fun" while it's out. On that note, if you have a Fiero, shouldn't you be doing an engine swap anyway? I've seen them with everything from a Cadillac North Star V8 to the ubiquitous supercharged 3800 V6. If you want to have some fun with it, the s/c'd 3800 is a great engine to add some fun and is dirt cheap to boot. - NJgoat (Review found on City-Data)

I've installed Jasper GM 305's and 350's before for a buddy and he was very satisfied with them. I have another buddy that bought a Ford 302 that is still sitting on an engine stand in his garage. For me I rebuild my original because of the matching numbers issues along with originality. As a new employee of Douglas Automotive and to the auto repair business, I can see how little I really know about today's automotive industry. My father had a Jasper engine installed in his station car a couple of years ago, when the original engine blew somewhere around 200k miles. There were no problems with the Jasper engine, and the mechanic who installed it has a great reputation, so he would not use junk. The engine was still going strong when the car was totaled, while parked, during a mild snowstorm. The replacement engine survived, though, and was transferred to a car that was being fixed for a low income family, so it's probably still going strong somewhere. - BMWguy (Review found on City-Data)

This is a note to tell you guys how great you are! I drive a 1991 Pontiac Firebird here in Memphis, Tennessee. I had an engine installed that I bought from you all back in April of 2001. I've been driving my car EVERYDAY since then. It's a 3.1 V6 that runs like I just drove it off the showroom floor. I've got 240,357 miles on the car now... 113,507 on your engine. Most of the miles are city, but I do take a few road trips when I can. I keep the oil changed, just one set of plugs and wires, and I couldn't be more pleased with the way it runs. It never "misses" or gives me trouble whatsoever. The best part is out on the open road... 70, 80, 90 is a smooth as a Cadillac. I guess I just wanted to tell you that you're pretty good at your jobs. Jasper Rules!!!

I just wanted to share my experience with your product. I had a Jasper engine and transmission installed in my 1989 Chrysler Le Baron. Within two months of installation my son and I put your product to an extreme test by driving from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and then back home via California in only three weeks time. Your engine and transmission performed flawlessly whether operating in the snows of Antiqa Pass (with its 12% grade) or in the deserts of California, Nevada, and Utah. We went from sea level to several thousand feet in elevation without using a drop of oil or experiencing any problems during the almost 11,000 miles we traveled. All I did was change the oil and filter every 3 or 4 thousand miles (depending on how handy a service center was) and changed the air filter. I bought your product because of the good experience I had with my 1970 Camaro's Jasper engine. Instead of buying a new car I saved thousands of dollars which could be used on such things as trips to Alaska. I'm hoping to repeat the drive to Alaska in the next few years but this time take the Camaro. - Steve L.

I own a shop here in Plano TX and have installed many engines over the last 27 years. Engine replacement is a large job by any reasonable person’s standards. There are many things that can and do go wrong. That is why when you choose an engine builder, you really need to understand what you are getting. Jasper focuses on high quality products, and so do we. We stand behind our work, and I am glad to report that Jasper does as well. I recently had an issue with an engine replacement, and that issue was not discovered until the engine was completely installed into the vehicle. The issue required a complete re-do of the engine replacement. Jasper stood behind their product, accepted fault, and paid me the 20 hours it took to re-install another engine. They felt so strongly about their error that they even paid me my normal shop rate of $110.00 per hour. Jasper has re-stored my faith in their product, and I won’t hesitate to use them again.
